According to a report by Goldman Sachs, hedge funds have increased their investments in Asian equities to the highest levels seen in recent years.

According to the Goldman Sachs report, hedge funds have raised their investments in Asian equities to the highest level in recent years, marking the largest increase since 2016.

Increase in investment volume: Between February 14 and 20, hedge funds’ long positions were 1.5 times greater than their short positions.
Major regional investors: Investors from China and Hong Kong accounted for half of the total inflows, while investors from Japan, Taiwan, and Australia made up 23% of the total inflows.
Goldman Sachs notes that there may be overly optimistic views regarding China’s economic recovery, and risks remain from increased restrictions on China due to US-China competition and the US “America First” investment policy.
