Investments of Berkshire Hathaway

Berkshire Hathaway, led by Warren Buffett, announced in its May 15, 2025 report that it has doubled its holdings in the alcoholic beverage producer Constellation Brands by acquiring 12 million shares, amounting to a $2.2 billion investment. This represents 6.6% of the company’s total shares.

At the same time, Berkshire Hathaway has completely exited its investments in financial institutions Citigroup and Brazil’s fintech company Nubank, while reducing its stakes in Bank of America and Capital One. In the first quarter of 2025, the company purchased $3.18 billion worth of shares but sold $4.68 billion worth, marking the tenth consecutive quarter where sales exceeded purchases.

Berkshire Hathaway also holds 300 million shares of Apple, with a total investment of $66.6 billion. Additionally, it increased its investments in five Japanese trading companies. By the end of March 2025, the company’s cash and cash equivalents reached $347.7 billion.

Warren Buffett, chairman of Berkshire Hathaway’s board, is 94 years old. Starting January 1, 2026, Greg Abel will take over as CEO, while Buffett will continue as chairman of the board.
